Easy Cinnamon Simple Syrup
Learn how to make your own cinnamon simple syrup. The recipe is incredibly easy and this sweetener can be used in cocktails, coffee, tea, and other drinks.
- Serves: 24 persons
- 1cup water
- 1cup granulated sugar (white or raw)
- 4cinnamon sticks
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2In a small saucepan , bring the water to a boil and stir in the sugar until completely dissolved.
Step 3Reduce the heat, add the cinnamon sticks. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Step 4Remove the pan from the heat. Keep covered, and allow the syrup to cool and steep for at least 1 hour; for more flavor, let it stand for up to 6 hours.
Step 5Remove the cinnamon sticks and stir in the vanilla extract, if using.
Step 6Transfer the syrup to a bottle with a tight seal.
Step 7Refrigerate and use to sweeten your favorite drinks. Enjoy.
