Thumbprint Cookies
These delicious jam-filled thumbprint cookies are made with only six ingredients. Bake these tasty cookies for a weekend or holiday treat.

Ingredients
- 1 ½cups salted butter ( softened )
- 1cup sugar
- 3egg yolks
- 1 ½teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3cups all-purpose flour (about 13 1/2 ounces )
- Strawberry or raspberry jam
Instructions
Step 1
Gather the ingredients. Heat the oven to 400 F.Step 2
In a large mixing bowl with electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.Step 3
Add egg yolks and vanilla to the creamed mixture; blend well.Step 4
Stir in the flour until well blended. If the dough is too soft to handle, work in little more flour.Step 5
Roll dough into small balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.Step 6
Press a thumb or finger in the center of each ball of dough to make an indentation.Step 7
Fill the thumbprint with your raspberry or strawberry jam or your favorite jam or preserves.Step 8
Bake a small first batch, and if the cookies in the first batch spread too much, work a little more flour into the dough. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until light brown around edges.
