Tyrosalata (Spicy Feta Dip) Recipe
A tasty spicy Greek feta dip. Greek yogurt is the base so create a creamy dip that will have everyone asking for more.
- Serves: 4 persons
- 1tablespoon olive oil
- 1large green pepper (mild, sliced in half and seeded)
- 1cup feta (crumbled)
- ½cup Greek yogurt
- ¼teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼teaspoon chili powder
- ½teaspoon lemon juice
- pepper to taste
- 3tablespoons olive oil (more or less; enough to achieve dip consistency)
- salt to taste*
Step 1Add some grapeseed oil to a pan and heat over medium-high.
Step 2Add the green pepper (or whichever peppers you’ll be using) and fry until it gets a little black and soft, about 5 minutes.
Step 3Remove pepper(s) and place in food processor.
Step 4Add feta, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, chili powder, lemon juice, and pepper to food processor as well.
Step 5Turn on and blend everything together. While blending, slowly pour in enough olive oil to achieve a dip like consistency. Normally, around 3 tablespoons or so.
Step 6Once you’re happy with consistency, remove and taste. Adjust any seasonings as necessary and reblend if needed.
Step 7When done, pour into bowl and serve with pita, vegetables, or whatever you like. NOTES *Add salt after tasting since feta is naturally salty so you many not need any.
