Cheesy Mashed Potato Casserole
Try this deluxe cheese mashed potato recipe. With cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and sour cream, this decadent dish is sure to be a hit.

- 8medium baking potatoes (about 4 pounds)
- 8oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 8oz. sour cream
- 8tbsp. butter (softened)
- ¼tsp. garlic powder
- ¼tsp. ground black pepper
- 1cup shredded cheddar cheese (or as desired)
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Step 3Butter a 2-quart baking dish.
Step 4Peel and quarter potatoes.
Step 5In a large saucepan, cook potatoes in enough water to cover for 20 to 25 minutes or until tender. Drain off liquid.
Step 6In a large mixing bowl, combine the potatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, butter, garlic powder, and pepper.
Step 7Beat the mixture by hand or with an electric mixer until fluffy; do not overbeat.
Step 8Turn the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 9Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
Step 10Uncover and bake for 15 minutes longer, or until lightly browned.
