Homemade Steak Sauce
This delicious recipe for steak sauce is easy to make. It includes ketchup, Worcestershire, soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and lemon juice.
- Serves: 40 persons
- 2tablespoons olive oil
- ½cup coarsely chopped onion
- 1large clove garlic (smashed)
- 1cup ketchup
- ¼cup water
- ¼cup Worcestershire sauce
- ¼cup lemon juice
- 2tablespoons soy sauce
- 2tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼cup white vinegar
- 1tablespoon mustard
- 1pinch salt
- 1pinch black pepper
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 3Add the onions and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until translucent in appearance but not brown.
Step 4Add the smashed garlic and sauté for 15 seconds until fragrant.
Step 5Place the remaining ingredients in the skillet and simmer over low heat, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 20 to 25 minutes, until it reaches a thickened consistency.
Step 6Remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely. Strain to remove the onion and garlic.
Step 7Serve on the side with any type of beef steak .
