Slow Cooker Chicken With Honey-Hoisin Sauce Recipe
Asian flavors highlight this flavorful chicken recipe, and it's easy to prepare and cook in most models of slow cooker.
- Serves: 8 persons
- 2to 3 pounds chicken parts or whole chicken (cut up)
- 2tablespoons soy sauce
- 2tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2tablespoons honey
- 2tablespoons dry white wine
- 1tablespoon grated ginger root or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ⅛teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2tablespoons cornstarch
- 2tablespoons water
Step 1Pat the chicken dry.
Step 2Arrange the chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker.
Step 3Combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, wine, ginger, and pepper.
Step 4Pour the sauce over the chicken.
Step 5Cover and cook on low from 5 1/2 to 8 hours, or until the chicken is tender and the juices run clear.
Step 6Mix the cornstarch and water.
Step 7Remove the fully cooked chicken from the slow cooker and reserve.
Step 8Turn the heat up to high and add the cornstarch and water mixture.
Step 9Continue to cook the mixture until thickened.
Step 10When the mixture is thick, add the cooked chicken back to the slow cooker to heat through.
