Easy Cheese Bourekas (Dairy)
An easy recipe for Israeli Cheese Bourekas, made with a mozzarella cheese filling baked in sesame seed-topped puff pastry.

Ingredients
- 1egg (lightly beaten)
- 8ounces (1 3/4 cups or 225 grams) cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1teaspoon dried parsley
- ½teaspoon garlic salt
- ¼teaspoon pepper
- 18 ½ounce (450 grams) package frozen puff pastry
- 1large egg (lightly beaten)
- Sesame seeds to garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 F / 180 C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Step 2
In a bowl, mix the egg, cheese, parsley, garlic salt, and pepper.Step 3
Using a sharp knife, cut the puff pastry into 5-inch squares.Step 4
Place a heaping tablespoon of cheese filling in each square.Step 5
Dampen the edges of the squares with water, and fold in half diagonally to form triangular pastries.Step 6
Pinch the edges together to seal the filling inside.Step 7
Brush the tops of the bourekas with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden, and the filling is cooked through. Serve immediately.
