    Gather the ingredients.

    Preheat the oven to 350 F.

    Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

    Peel, core, and finely chop the apples until the fruit measures 1 1/2 cups. Reserve.

    In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

    Using a stand or hand mixer, cream the butter with the sugar. Mix for about 5 minutes.

    Roughly beat the eggs in a small bowl and add them to the creamed butter and sugar.

    Add half of the flour mixture into the creamed mixture. Mix for 3 minutes.

    Add the milk.

    Add the remaining flour to the mixture and mix well for another 5 minutes. Stop and scrape the sides of the bowl and mix for another 3 minutes.

    Add the dates and chopped apple into the batter and mix well with the help of a spatula. The batter will be quite stiff.

    Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 5 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes.
