Oatmeal MM Cookies
This is one of my favorite cookie recipes. The almond extract gives the cookie a unique flavor that makes them, in my opinion, a little better than the rest. Because I like these cookies so much, I usually make them twice their normal size.

Ingredients
- ½cup butter flavored shortening
- ⅔cup brown sugar
- ⅓cup white sugar
- 1egg
- ¼teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼teaspoon almond extract
- 1½ cups rolled oats
- 1cup all-purpose flour
- ½teaspoon baking powder
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).Step 2
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. Combine the oats, flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the candy-coated chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.Step 3
Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until light golden brown.
