Kentucky Bourbon Sauce Barbeque
This all-purpose Kentucky bourbon sauce is ready in just 15 minutes and gives a kick to most any barbecued meat.
- Serves: 24 persons
- 2cups ketchup
- ¾cup brown sugar
- ½cup cider vinegar
- ½cup pineapple juice
- ⅓cup Kentucky bourbon
- 1tablespoon molasses
- 2teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½teaspoon hot sauce
- 1teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, cider vinegar, pineapple juice, bourbon, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce reaches the desired thickness.
Step 3Remove the pan from the heat and let cool. When cooled, taste and adjust seasoning. Use the sauce right away or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
